Â鶹ӳ»­ College to host 2024 Veterans Day Ceremony Nov. 11

Â鶹ӳ»­ will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 12 pm Monday, Nov. 11, in the Student Center. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided for all guests during and after the ceremony.

Dr. Rosy Cordero, Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, and Â鶹ӳ»­â€™s Veterans Advocacy Committee will head the MIA/POW table. Highlights of the event include a welcome by Dr. Laurie Borowicz, President of Â鶹ӳ»­; the national anthem and additional music performed by the DeKalb High School Jazz Band; the Pledge of Allegiance led by Kim Ahlert, Marine veteran and Â鶹ӳ»­ Assistant Professor of Physics; recognition of military members and a moment of silence; and guest speaker Ezekiel Mora, veteran, nurse practitioner and Â鶹ӳ»­ alumnus.

Guests should enter through Door 6, the Student Center entrance. The event will be recorded and livestreamed on Â鶹ӳ»­â€™s social media platforms.

The Veterans Day ceremony is sponsored by the Â鶹ӳ»­ Veterans Advocacy Committee.
